Yes, it is very straightforward and easy to install. Your Raven business account is configured to provision your Raven GPS dash camera system so it is virtually a ‘plug and mount’ setup.

Does the Raven Dash Cam upload videos to the cloud?

Yes. Raven automatically uploads all harsh braking and potential impact events to the cloud and makes all events available upon request. These videos can be accessed in the web app.

Can I have more than one dash cam on my account?

All of your Ravens will come auto-provisioned to your account. Once they’ve been installed you’ll see them populate in the web-app. If you decide to add additional Ravens, they will be added to your account by contacting Sales or Support.

FAQs

How do I install the Dash Camera?

The Camera is a plug and play solution. It is shipped with all required accessories for installation in a light/medium duty vehicle with a 16-pin OBDII port. An 8ft cable connecting the Camera to the vehicle’s OBD port is included. Adapter cables are required for J1939 vehicles or 2-Wire installation. The Camera also includes a universal mount that can be used to install the device on the windshield or the dashboard of the vehicle. A video highlighting the installation process is provided here.

Is the Dash Camera always on?

When connected to the vehicle's OBD or J1939 diagnostic port, the Camera will be powered by the vehicle’s battery whether the vehicle is driving or parked.

How many driving hours will an SD card record?

The Camera comes with a 256GB micro SD memory card of which up to 60 hours of driving time video will be captured at the highest resolution (‘Standard’ setting) while the vehicle is engine on. This can be extended to 90 hours (‘Balanced’ setting) or 115 hours (‘Extended’ setting) by reducing video quality if required. Once the card is full, it will automatically overwrite the oldest 5 minute file(s) for the enabled camera(s).

Does the camera drain my vehicle’s battery?

The Camera is always monitoring your vehicle’s battery and will automatically shut itself down if it detects that the vehicle battery voltage falls below 11.9VDC for more than 5 minutes. This ensures that the Camera will not drain your vehicle battery when parked for extended periods of time.

Does the dash camera support live streaming?

The Camera does support both live and historic streaming. Note that these features are designed to provide a real-time viewing experience and will prioritize video presentation over video quality depending upon the strength of the cellular data connection. For the highest quality video, you can request this via the History tab or via the SD card itself.
